St. Louis 2016: steps to victory

In February 2016 ISP hosted its second CEESA/FIRST Tech Challenge tournament, with teams from Venice, Warsaw, Bucharest, Sofia, Tirana, Istanbul, Moscow, The Hague and Vienna. Robots had to push debris into zones, trigger zip lines and climb ramps: 30 seconds of autonomous, then two and a half minutes of driver control.

Day 1

At first the robot could only drive forwards and backwards. Richard and Daniel programmed the autonomous, Alex tuned driver control, and the builders added the finishing touches.

Day 2

With Richard as drive coach, Alex as primary driver and Roman as secondary driver, the team scored mostly by climbing the ramp and finished 5th in qualifying. WattsUp from the Netherlands picked us as their partner for the semifinals.

Finals

We didn't make the final, but FalconTech won the Inspire Award, the top award in FTC. It was one of only two of the seven awards that qualified a team for Worlds, so ISP became the only school representing the Czech Republic in St. Louis, and it was our first invitation.
